Opening the rear passenger door via the trunk

Hi All:
I am unable to open my rear passenger's side door. The door lock stem raises when I unlock the car but the door remains locked. I know I'll need to remove the door panel to repair the linkage but wonder if there is a way to open the door via the trunk. If so how is it done and are there any pics?

Thanks in advance!

Joe

I can not help with your question, Joe, however my car had the same issue same door when I acquired it. Mine would not open from outside but would open from inside. In the process of reassembling I cleaned and lubricated everything inside and the problem has vanished...for now.

Thanks! I don't think I can remove the panel to access linkage without being able to open the door hence the question.

I was just thinking the same. The door must be open to access the stryker mechanism surround. I would remove the inside handle assembly (it pryes out, instructions can be found here with a search) and see if maneuvering the pull rod can be of help. It may take a break-in type tool used from the window channel location.
