Kinda pissed now that people still do this. What is a part number anyone knows. After searching found out w126 does not fit. I replaced star on my 1994 E320 but that is with different base. Thank you

Yep - here is my thread when it happened to my '95 diesel. Sucks, doesn't it? http://www.500eboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6936&highlight=star

At least it wasn't my 500E. I just bought an OEM star off eBay - they seemed to have good pricing and there are several sellers to choose from. Don't know the part number but here is one.

Of course Lionel or Naperville (Napierville?) might have a better deal, but at the time I did not check with them.

Edit - using Gerry's link it looks like Naperville (mboemparts.com) has it for $37 - with free shipping that seems decent.

I live in Naperville will stop by there. Post facelift is easier to find then pre 1993 emblem. Plus some are different then others.

Ask for Jeff in the parts department at MB Naperville. Tell him you know me and are affiliated with this forum. See if he will give you the good pricing.

Back in the days when they were working together with parts.com, they WOULD NOT give the parts.com discount at the parts counter. Internet orders only. Now that they are on their own, I bet they will give a good discount.

I remember when that happened on my cabriolet. I was having a great drive along the Pacific coast. The world was perfect. Then I noticed the star was missing. Still kills me to this day and it happend 4 years ago.

I had this happen to me recently in NYC. I posted a thread to bitch about it and awesome member J-Sauce volunteered to send me an extra one he had. I wanted a used one thinking a new one wouldn't look right on an original paint/body condition car. When I reinstalled it the world was perfect again :) Im sorry to hear about this. Im a firm believer of what goes around comes around.

Just had mine swiped at the transmission shop that was rebuilding my transmission. The manager replaced it. Unreal.

As a result, I bought a flat one too.
