Hi everyone, does anyone know how I can lower the windshield wiper back to its normal position?

I lifted it to clean the windshield and now it won’t go down.
Before I start disassembling anything, I wanted to ask here first.

I have experienced this exact problem before. There is a spring-loaded locking mechanism in the arm. If not lubricated, this will "stick" in the raised position. You may need to force it back down. First find the mechanism and spray lubricant on it, then force it back down. Once lubricated, move the arm up into the locked position (clicks into place) and push back down, repeat this until the lubricant is spread around and the lock mechanism works smoothly.

For anyone who has never lubed the wiper arm lock mechanism, do it before the arm sticks in the upward position.
