Wow, congrats! Looks great! It's called the Limited for a reason - not easy to get your hands on one of these.

What's with the giant screen stuck to the dash? Looks like something you'd find in a taxi?

Is that colour malachite or nautical blue? I can't tell.

I think it’s neither. The Limited came in either silver or sapphire black as far as I remember
TimL is correct. That is color code 009, Sapphire Black. On the E500E, this color was only offered on the Limited.

All Limiteds had monochrome paint as well... bumpers/moulding were body color.

:matrix:

Congratulations and enjoy the car! Beautiful 1994 Limited. It depends on the taste of each person but imo try to tuck in a bit the exhaust tips, they are sticking out much for .036 taste imo. 👋

The fuel pressure regulator from bosch is 3.8bar og the genuine is 4 bar

It's okay to use the the one from bosch

Hello Kashif and congrats with your Limited!:welcome4:

It is great to see more 500E/E500 coming to Norge, and the Limited is still pretty rare here - this is the 4th Limited...supposed the other 3 still remains in the country. BTW, all of them are as yours in 009 color with 288 interior. Thanks for posting both your name and the VIN, makes it easier to keep an overview of the stable and my small 036-register updated.
Good luck with your fixes and happy driving!:driving:

Nice to see more E500 limited in Norway
Possibly too know where the other cars are located in Norway? Or members names

AFAIK it's only a handful active Norwegian members here, but many, many lurkers. :thumbsup2:

At the point I bought my Limited in May 2007 it was one for sale far up north, and it remained for sale for 10++ years! I'm not sure why, but I think it was priced too high, plus the cosmic import tax in Norway at the time on top of that, pushed it beyond the market limits. The price level at the time was much lower because the 036 wasn't considered as a young vintage among the general public yet, but more like just an old Merc. I don't know where this car is now, rumours says it went back to the Netherland or Germany.

Around 2010 a guy in Oslo imported a Limited from Japan. He did a full resto/upgrade inside out and sold it a couple of years ago, it remains in Norway.

In addition to yours is another Limited recently imported, up for sale here: Mercedes-Benz E-Klasse

We had the privilege of having one of the few E60 AMG Limiteds here in Norway for some years as well, but it went back to Germany some years ago. The car was never custom cleared and registered: Mercedes-Benz E-Klasse

I have collected info about all 036s here in Norway for about 10 years, mainly the VIN and reg.numbers and it's just a fun part of being an enthusiast. But it's in fact not that easy because many Norwegian owners think the VIN is super secret information about their car - which it isn't. VIN and reg.numbers are legally available in the public database at the State Highway Authority. So I'll find the VIN anyway, it just takes more time in some cases. :rugby:

It is always nice to get fresh, original parts on the desk ready for install. But don't throw away the old parts immediately, it's nice to keep some of them as emergency spares. I especially refer to the upper wiring harness which can be rewired, and the caps, rotors and insulator cover as well, if they're not totally toast, cracked...

Hi Bilal
The world is not big
was surprised that you were interested in the car
The seller told me that it was another person who was very interested in the car

Hi
I have changed the ignition plugs
And I used this
Super Plus Bosch
• Manufacturer Bosch
• Gjengemål M14, Elektrodeavstand 0.9 mm, short nummer FR8DC+ +6

And i read on the forum is not right spark plugs??

The engine runs much better after replacing cap, rotor spark plugs wire but not 100 %

Can this give less engine power??
Or rough idle

FR8DC+ are resistor plugs. Generally they shouldn't cause less power or rough idle, but they're also not recommended for these older engines with distributor ignitions.

Can you source a set of non-resistor plugs, either Bosch F8DC4 or Beru 14F-8DU4? And gap them at 1.0mm?

Rough idle can also be caused by worn engine mounts. Low power is usually not ignition problems.

Hi Kashif, very good to speak to you yesterday evening and to connect with a fellow E500 Limited owner, it's an exclusive club! Very much looking forward to seeing you next time you visit Dubai and in the meantime keen to hear updates on your E500 Limited. Happy to help where I can. Regards, Bilal

I will check with Bosch today thanks
The old spark plugs leads was hard and stiff
And I will pull out fault codes from ecu

If you can't source aftermarket, the correct non-resistor plugs are available from Mercedes.

Remember there are 5 different "ECU" modules, you need to pull codes from all of them. There is rarely a fault code on the LH module (fuel injection). More info in the De-Coding subforum at this link, read the "sticky" threads up top.

:apl:

The Launch may not have 100% capability compared to the SDS. But it should work for most systems. I have yet to find *any* aftermarket scanner that truly has full capability for these older OBD-1 systems on the M119 with LH injection.

Remember you may still need a hand-held blink code reader for non-engine systems which only have analog blink codes and no digital communication (SRS and HVAC).

Details on W124+M119 systems and codes are in this document:

The Trisco PalmScan does the blink codes as well as the more detailed codes for the .036. It doesn't do live data, of course.

Where can I bye blink diagnosis ebay?
Yes, eBay, or build your own. Note that you either need 1mm pins to plug directly into the 38-pin socket, OR get a breakout box (highly recommended) which has numbered sockets that accept normal 4mm banana-plug pins.

More info here if you poke around:

I found these rims for sale
Is this direct fit for my Ltd with E60 suspension
Tire size recommend?

Anyone has Pictures with this setup

AMG rims for R129
8,5x18 ET25 front and 10x18 ET25.

Or just refurbished the evo rims come with the car

Those are perfect fitment on the E500E. Several forum members have them. They are rare & expensive wheels, and look fantastic IMO... make sure to get the correct tire sizes.

:wahoo:

Search for 600eric and his car on this forum. He put these on his car

These wheels look cool, but since you got an original Limited, I’d cherish these Evo wheels as one of the things that make your car an original Limited

This is the one I bought. Works perfectly but its much easier to use the instructions on the forum than the ones which come with the reader.
Yeah, if you buy anything, toss the instructions AND code list/sheet in the trash. Use the document on my website or this forum, which comes straight from Mercedes documentation, and is specific to the 124.034/.036 chassis.

:shocking:

So as a general thyme, to keep the overall tire diameter close to that of stock 16" wheel/tire combo, your targeting 25.7" to keep the speedo/odo accurate as possible, (stock 16" wheel/tire uses 255/55R which yields 25.7" overall diameter)

Using your new wheels width and diameter measurements, you need these tire sizes to get close to 25.7" overall diameter;

Front wheels @ 8.5" - 245/40R yields 25.7" (perfect)
Rear wheels @ 10" - 275/35R yields 25.6" (as close as you can get with 10" wide wheel)

I use these two websites to get this data, and play with different wheel and tire combinations

Research all models for wheel and tire sizes - https://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/information/fitting_chart/mercedes-benz

Compare different wheel/tire combinations for compatibility - Custom wheels, rim tire packages

Very nice wheels, one of my favorite... looking forward to seeing pics of them on your 500...

outrbnks is correct. (y)

If you wanted a fatter appearance, +10mm front and rear also works (255/40 with 285/35) but the speedo/odo will be slightly lower than actual. And if lowered, the wider tires might cause some clearance issues, depending on the sidewall profile/shape of the tire brand/model used.

BTW, that RimsNTires link is awesome - haven't seen that one before. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks
I'll check this out on ebay
but how does this work? its easy to work with?
have only used professional diagnostic equipment.

It's quite simple to use. GSXR made an excellent how to for reading and clearing the codes using one of these blink code readers. Basically each code has a number associated and its read by counting the number of times the light on the reader blinks. Pretty primitive but it does the job.

I need new key fob case someone have the part nr from MB
i found some on ebay from china i dont now about the quality

I don't have the PN, but do you need a complete IR transmitter unit w/key?
If so it has to be ordered per VIN at the dealer and it is stupidly expensive here in Morepay. You could try to place an order abroad, but for security reasons the dealers normally don't provide keys for cars registered outside their country. You have to document your ownership in any case, and you may need assistence from someone in that country to prove your ID & ownership, and physically place the order and receival of the key as well.

In case the IR key is broken or weared out, you can look at the breakers for a W210 unit. IIRC the early 210 cars use the same key housing, but the electronics/internals may be different, I don't know. I've seen repairs of the electronics on a forum somewhere, but I don't have any links.
